D is for Drop Everything And Read

So, I heard about this from another A to Z blogger, but I apologize and admit I can’t remember which blog it was on!
Nevertheless, I thought it definitely deserved another mention.
Beverly Cleary has written many books for children and young adults, including the Ramona and Beezus books.
Drop Everything And Read, or D.E.A.R., is a celebration of reading above everything else. Typically, this event has been celebrated on April 12th, Beverly Cleary’s birthday. This year, however, it’s expanded into a month-long April celebration of reading!
Check out the website here for more details, as well as for information about Beverly Cleary and D.E.A.R. booklists and activities.
And get reading! (I know, that’s going to be tough for you, isn’t it =P )
