    Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Lexa Cain, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life! This week, I’m celebrating: Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend the Ontario Library Association Super Conference in Toronto with a couple of my colleagues. The Super Conference is a massive library conference held yearly here, full of informational sessions, product exhibitors, and lots of publishers/authors! I got to attend a panel session with seven Canadian authors, which was fantastic. Nothing makes you yearn to write more than hearing other authors talk about their craft! Having a nice lunch with my husband – me and my husband’s schedules have been…

    Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Lexa Cain, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life! This week, I’m celebrating: Well, many of you have probably already heard the terribly sad news about the death of Alan Rickman. If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you also probably know that he is my favourite actor (and that’s not a light statement at all). I’m heartbroken by the news, and so I am spending today celebrating the legacy of his work by watching his films all day. The hard part will be deciding what to watch, =) What are you celebrating this week?

    Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Lexa Cain, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life! This week, I’m celebrating: Going sockless at work! – Okay, this might sound like a weird thing to be thankful for. But the weather’s been so nice this week, yesterday I wore my flats without any socks or stockings…it’s not very often you get to have your feet exposed to the elements in Canada in December! Baking – I am not a fan of cooking in any shape or form, but I do love to bake. And so far this holiday season I’ve been doing a fair bit of it.…

    Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Lexa Cain, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life! This week, I’m celebrating: Fun writing – I’m working on an unofficial NaNoWriMo project this month (unofficial as it’s a short novella-esque creation aiming to be well below 50,000 words!), and this week I’ve figured out a major plot point and have headed into the second half of the first draft. It’s a fun story to write, and knowing where the plot is headed makes it even more enjoyable to work on. Candles – I like candles but don’t usually buy a ton of them, so it was out of…

    Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Lexa Cain, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life! This week, I’m celebrating: Having two functional cars! – So, last we spoke, I had to buy a new car because our old clunker had died on us. Well, after we settled on a car (but before we could pick it up from the lot), our other car got both rear-ended and had the door ripped out of alignment by the wind so it wouldn’t shut anymore o_o. Needless to say, it was not a happy week. But, we have the new car now, and the other car is still…

    Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Lexa Cain, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life! This week, I’m celebrating: Getting a new car (?) – I can’t quite decide if this is a celebration, or an annoyance! Our old junk car died this week. I loathed the thing, and we knew we’d need to replace it in the next couple of years, but at the same time, we weren’t at all prepared to replace it now. So, we have to get a new (used) car this weekend. It’s nice in that we’ll actually get something I don’t mind driving, and something that can fit the…

    Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Lexa Cain, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life! This week, I’m celebrating: October! – I love October…it’s a month of baking, warm beverages, crisp walks, pretty colours, cozy fires, and the joys of Thanksgiving (here in Canada) and Halloween. So looking forward to spending some time outdoors or by the fireplace with a good book (…if I get the chance!) Getting settled into a new routine. – It’s been two weeks back at work now, and while it has been (as I suspected) pretty exhausting, we’re getting settled and making the transition. The baby is doing great, which…

    Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Lexa Cain, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life! This week, I’m celebrating: September! – Okay, so it’s a bittersweet month for me. I go back to work later this month, which is exciting, but also sad and a definite cause for a bit of baby-related panic! But it’s also the month of my son’s birthday, which is crazy (how has a year gone by already??) and wonderful. Bathroom reno! – I have wanted to renovate the bathroom in our house since we moved in a year and a half ago (it was supposed to be the first project…

    Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Lexa Cain, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life! This week, I’m celebrating: Nice email conversations – I don’t know about you, but usually my emails are pretty straight-forward question/answer, request/response kind of messages. But this week, I had some casual, friendly email exchanges…it was a nice change! Shopping for Halloween costumes! – Okay, it’s still August. But I shop early for everything (yes, I’ve already started my Christmas shopping, too!), so for my family, it’s prime costume shopping-time. It’s so much fun hunting for each piece, and finding incredible deals at the same time! What are you celebrating…

Hosted by Lexa Cain, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life! This week, I’m celebrating: Visits with friends – I had a nice visit with some new friends earlier this week, and we’re having a get together with some old friends this weekend! Good quality sweatpants – With fall approaching in a month (or two?), comfy pants are a must, especially for writing! Got a great deal on some nice new sweatpants this week. Can’t wait to try them out while working on a story, =) What are you celebrating this week?
