Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Viklit, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life!

Missed the hop last week, but now I’m back! This week, I’m celebrating:

  • Finally got to spend a bit of time with my husband! He’s been working a lot lately, and our schedules haven’t matched at all. But this week he finally had a couple of days off, and we even got most of a day off together, which was great, =)
  • Summer has officially begun at the library, which means it’s crazy busy! That makes for some exhausting days, but it’s really nice to see lots of people (especially families) in the library, and to get a lot of great reference questions from patrons.

What are you celebrating this week?

Yay for more time with the hubby! When I as a kid, I loved hanging out in the library every weekend and especially during the summer. I have such wonderful memories of the glorious books I'd take home and dive into. Those were the days, my friend… 😀

It's so good to have some time off, especially if you can have it with your husband. Enjoy!

Wonderful that you finally had time with your hubs. Life does seem to get to hectic sometimes. Do you guys have any reading programs that are drawing the kids in? (Just curious what other libraries do.)

Yes! I'm not in the children's department, so I don't know all the specific details of our summer program here, but I do know it's fantastic. Last year we won a huge award for it, and so far this year it's been just as popular. It's kind of crazy, actually…not at all uncommon to get 100+ kids showing up for one program!
