Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Viklit, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life!

This week, I’m celebrating:

  • On Monday my mom and sister came to the house with nursery furniture, and a cat, =)  My sister’s moving in a couple of weeks, and she can’t take the cat, so we’re adopting her. And, we’ve now got most of the furniture for the nursery set-up!
  • Bought a new camera in preparation of the new addition coming soon to the family. It’s not outrageously fancy, but a step up from our old one, and so far is easy to use. Can’t wait to practice taking more shots!

What are you celebrating this week?

    1. Such an exciting time! I don't know if it works for cats, but when my stepdaughter was born, my husband says the hospital told them to take something with the baby's scent on it home for their dog to sniff before the baby came in. Supposedly that helps when the new little person enters the house?
    2. Great celebrations! I'm more of a dog person though lol. When's the baby due?

So you're just about ready. Nursery and a cat!
    4. It's a very exciting time for you for sure. Babies are the biggest blessing. :You have many wonderful things to anticipate. Congratulations!

We have a dog, too, and he's good around babies/little ones, but he might have a bit of a problem when the new addition arrives because he's an attention hog! The cat I'm actually not worried about at all…she is not a normal cat, lol. She is content as anything (like, rubs her face against the dog's face without a moment's hesitation), and my sister went through two pregnancies and had two little kids running around and chasing her, without her having the slightest problem…she was actually a stray living under my sister's porch in the middle of the winter, so I think she's so content because she's experienced some very bad times, =)

The baby is due at the beginning of October…still a few months away, but with the move we've pretty much got everything already!
