Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Viklit, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life!

Missed last week, but now I’m back:

So…in addition to moving, last week me and my husband also got hit with something rather upsetting. We had to put down our cat. She had oral cancer, and it had gotten to the point where she was bleeding constantly from the mouth, in addition to other things like weight loss, inability to eat dry food, and the inability to keep herself clean. It was the right thing to do, but it was hard. She was nearly 17, and I’d had her for her whole life…I got her when I was 9 years old, and she had *always* been unmistakable my cat. We got her when we lived in Texas, and she moved to three states, as well as back to Canada with us, where she’s lived in five different cities with me. I loved her dearly, and I miss her immensely.

So, this week I want to celebrate something literally small, =). I want to celebrate my cat Stacey (yes, 9 year-old me named her after the Barbie doll!). I will never forget her, and I am very glad I got so many years with her by my side.

So what are you celebrating this week?

      1. So sorry to hear about your lovely Stacey, I understand how hard it is. We lost our beautiful Buttons last September, she was 17 too. Still miss her.
Hope you soon settle into your new home.

Goodbye, Stacey. It's clear you'll be missed. *pausing to reflect on my dear departed doggie*
