Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Viklit, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life!

My celebrations for this week are:

  • Did some writing yesterday! I haven’t done much writing at all lately, so this was wonderful. Hopefully I’ll get some more done over the weekend, but we move in a week (yikes!) and I have pretty much the entire house to pack…so we’ll see how that goes!
  • It was March Break for the kids here, which meant tons of activities at the library this week. Seriously, for anyone who wonders what the library’s worth is…come to a March Break program (around here, anyways). They did an egg drop from the second storey one day…you could hear them chanting “Drop! Drop!” from my office across the library, so we all gave in and went out to watch the madness unfold. The entire lobby, the entire staircase, and crowded in everywhere they could possibly fit were kids and parents, all to watch some eggs get splattered (which they definitely did!) It was great.

What are you celebrating this week?

  1. The egg drop sounds fun, never heard of it before! Congrats on the writing and good luck with the upcoming move. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Yay for the writing accomplished. You deserve to be proud! I like quiet libraries and have never seen an egg-drop. I wonder what poor person had to clean it up. 😛

Tonight I'm celebrating that I was able to provide so much help today to a dear friend who's prepping to self-pup her first novella. Considering what a truly horrendous* person I can sometimes be (*I know, only the people closest to me would ever believe it), I love, love, LOVE getting to give like that!

Also, I'm just a little over 24 hours away from the release of my first novel. Wouldn't call that a small thing, but boy, am I stoked!

  4. Sharon Himsl says:
Good luck with the move. The writing will still be there when the move is over 🙂
  5. Julia says:
Your library sounds a great place to hang out. When my boys were little we used to go and change our books most Saturday mornings, and then pop next door to the museum, where there were usually some children's activities going on. Good times.

Sometimes you have to give yourself a break, even from writing. Your head is probably generating all kinds of ideas for when you return to it. Happy Spring.
  7. Vicki Rocho says:
I sooooo want to drop eggs off the roof now!
  8. Library events always prove to be a lot of fun, in my experience. Glad you had such a good spring break. Good luck with your move. I'm sure it will be wonderful, and no doubt you'll get everything done. Somehow, miracles seem to happen when we least expect them and need them to.
