Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Viklit, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life!

Busy week this week. Our house closes next Friday! We won’t be moving in for a few weeks yet, but we’re in the switching everything over and getting things ready for the lawyer stage, which is a lot of annoying work, =P.

But regardless, it’s time to celebrate!

My celebrations for this week are:

  • Family day was good…unexpectedly got to see all four nieces and nephews, so that was definitely a treat!
  • Because it was a long weekend, it was a short week, which has been awesome. Looking forward to getting some editing done this weekend, as well as some reading. I went out and purchased The Wind in the Willows, and I think I might start that soon. Why have I never read it before? I hate toads. Like, seriously. Where some people have irrational fears of snakes or spiders, I absolutely freak out whenever a toad is nearby. So we’ll see how this book goes, =3

What are you celebrating this week?

  1. Good luck with your move. Sounds exciting, even though it will be a lot of work. It's always nice to see the entire family at once. Frogs – hmmm, never really thought about them like spiders or anything…

  2. Good luck with the move. Isn't selling or buying a house the most stressful thing ever? I totally understand your irrational fear of toads. I'm utterly terrified of ventriloquist dummies. No reason for it, but I can't stand them.

A new home? That is so wonderful. Hope the move isn't too zooey. Interesting about the toad fear. I have a fear of cockroaches. After living in Malaysia and Mississippi, I really freak out when I see one 🙂 Fortunately, they can't survive our winters in eastern Washington.

It doesn't get much better than a long weekend and a short week! I think the toads in The Wind in the Willows are kinder, gentler toads than the norm. Good luck! 🙂

I hope your fear of toads doesn't stop you from enjoying the book! Good luck with the move.
  6. Moving is the pits, good luck. My kids just finished reading the Wind in the Willows.
