Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Viklit, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life!

I missed last week of celebrating because I was away at OLA. But this week I am back, with one not-so-small celebration:

  • My husband and me just bought our very first house! So excited to finally stop renting and own our own property, =)  We’ll be painting, sanding floors, cleaning, and moving within the next while, so it will be very busy around here. But in this case, busy is definitely good!

What are you celebrating this week?

Thank you! Yes, it will definitely be a fair bit of work, but we're really looking forward to it, =)

Woohoo!! That's so exciting! Huge congrats to you and your husband – I'm so happy for you!! That's definitely a BIG thing to celebrate this week!

Congrats on the house. I don't know how things are in Canada, but in Britain the average age of the first-time home buyer has shot up to 35! I can't see how my two sons will ever be able to own their own place. One is renting with a friend, the other is still living at home.

According to an article from last year, the average here is 29, which sounds about right! For us, getting approved was a bit of a challenge, but ultimately a ridiculous one, because our current rent is actually higher than our new mortgage payment =3
