Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Viklit, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life!

My celebrations for this week are:

  • It’s 2014! I always look forward to the new year. I don’t really like making resolutions, exactly, but I do like to try and make goals. Not things to change about myself, but just areas to focus on, almost like yearly themes.

  • 2013 was a good year for me. I got a full-time position at a great library close to home. My husband finished school and is now working 2 jobs in his field. And, of course, a short story of mine was accepted into an upcoming anthology, which will mark my first published piece of writing! Here’s hoping 2014 will continue in the same fashion, =)
  • It’s definitely winter and definitely cold, which I don’t really like. However, it’s pretty outside with all the snow, and today is bright and sunny!

What are you celebrating this week?

Your first celebration reminds me of myself. We end up with no broken promises in the end. Congrats on the anthology. Happy New Year.

A job in a library? How wonderful. I know your husband has got to be happy about finishing school. It's a good feeling to celebrate. I'm jealous of your snow. We have cold mud. Not real cheery, but probably easier to drive on than ice. Happy 2014.
