Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Viklit, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life!

My celebrations for this week are:

  • Finished NaNoWriMo! I reached my 50,000 word goal on Tuesday, =). I’m not being totally faithful to the program…I’m not going to continue with this story right now, because the quick-paced writing has muddled the events so much that I can’t logically end it the way I want to. So instead, I’m leaving it be for the time being, and am starting a rewrite of a former manuscript I’ve been thinking about for awhile. Still writing, just a different project!
  • Been getting into the holiday spirit big time, doing some shopping, watching a few of our favourite movies, and even discovering a new one that we’ll definitely be watching every holiday season from now on!

  • It’s the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who! Definitely worthy of a big celebration.

What are you celebrating this week?

  1. Wahoo! 50K–even muddled is AWESOME. You deserve cheese. Now can I borrow your speed so I can get through this draft before beta readers are calling for it? 😉
  2. Nana Prah says:
Congratulations on reaching your word goal. I'm curious about which Christmas movie is now the yearly watch.
  3. Mere Joyce says:
Hmmm, cheese for speed? I think that's a fair trade!

…The movie is the Snowman, based on the book by Raymond Briggs. Had never seen it before this year, but it's wonderful!

  4. Rhonda Albom says:
Congratulations!!! I crossed 40,000 today and I am thrilled with that, but to win already, well done.
  5. VikLit says:
50k on Nano and 50 years of Dr Who – HURRAH
  6. Mere Joyce says:
Congrats on 40,000, Rhonda! That's wonderful news as well.

And yes, 50 all around this week/weekend, and a great number it is =3

  7. Congratulations on all those words! I missed this week's small things celebration, but will try to be back up and running in Dec. Happy Thanksgiving.
