The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Okay, so I seem to be getting sucked into this series!  I read the first book, and I liked it, although I didn’t love it.  I watched the Disney version of the film, however, and enjoyed that, so when I saw the second Disney film, Prince Caspian, for really cheap, I decided to buy it, and read the book first.
So, I guess I am reading the series as they were published, not in the order some suggest they “should” be read in.
I liked Prince Caspian about as much as I liked The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.  It was very different, though.  While the first book was all about the fun exploration of children from our world falling into a brand-new world, this one was about children who knew of Narnia already, and who were thus unsurprised by everything they encountered.  It was a sadder story, too.  The children come back to find their palace in disarray, since it’s been hundreds and maybe even thousands of Narnia years since they last were there.  That means that most of the characters from the first book are long since dead, which is sad.
This is also, I believe, the last book where all four children travel to Narnia, and this upset me.  I knew it was coming eventually (although it’s something I don’t like about the series), but in book 2?  It would have been better if Peter and Susan were still around in later books…particularly because Peter is my favourite!
Aside from this, though, there’s not a whole lot to say!  If you liked The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, you’ll probably like Prince Caspian, too. ***1/2
***A word on the movie.  I really liked the first Disney rendition from this series, so I was excited for Prince Caspian.  However, I was THOROUGHLY disappointed!  The movie was awful compared to the book.  Too much added action just to make the movie more “exciting”, and I really hated how they made Peter and Susan so angsty!  I love Peter, and the movie made him a very unlikable character, which is very unlike his actual character in the books.  I have an issue with that.
