Librarianship,  Writing

Wow.  So…I haven’t been reading much lately.  I am currently working my way through Brideshead Revisited, but it’s not a real action-driven story, and I already know the story because I’ve seen (and now own) the fantastic mini-series which led me to want to read the book in the first place (Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews have such brilliant chemistry!  I just wanted them to cuddle.  Like, seriously.)

Anyways…I have been much more focused on writing lately than I have been on reading.  And I’ve finished the first draft of my current WIP!  Yay!  Which means onto the editing process.

I kind of both love and hate editing, which I’m sure is pretty standard for a lot of writers.  It’s exciting to read through the story from start to finish, and to really see how certain scenes flow and whatnot.  And editing a scene usually goes a bit faster than writing it does, at least for me.  But at the same time, it is a little tedious to edit, especially when you find those scenes that just don’t quite work, and try as you might you can’t figure out how to fix them!

So that’s where I am right now.  In the meantime, we’re gearing up for summer at work!  School presentations coming up, and we just found out we’re getting a summer student this year, which means we’ll get to do a lot more programming, which will be great, since I’ll be working with the student the most.

And of course, hubby and me’s 1st wedding anniversary is Monday, so yeah for that!
