U is for Unwind

U is for Unwind!

Have you ever been on a writer’s retreat? This is something I have never done, but which I really hope I will be able to someday. I think the idea of a relaxing vacation devoted to unwinding with some quality writing time would be so fantastic, and so useful, too.

I’ve mentioned before that there is a Scandinavian bath that I’ve been to a few times, which I think is the perfect spot for a writer’s retreat. You can’t really write at the actual baths (far too wet!), but it’s such a great place to relax with your thoughts, and to be inspired by the beauty of the whole place. I would love to someday stay at a nearby resort for a few days, and make the whole experience devoted to writing.

How about you? Ever devoted a vacation to writing? Would you ever want to?

I think I would love to go on a writer's retreat, but I'd also be afraid of not being inspired at all while I was there…I am going on vacation soon, though, and plan on spending a lot of time writing!

I would love to go to one. I had one planned for August, but not sure if I will make it anymore.

That sounds lovely! Like Sarah, I'd love to go on one but fear I'd be distracted (I'm distracted so easily 🙂 ). I'd love just to get away for a few days all by myself with my laptop, notes and me because at home and with the internet, it is sometimes hard to get things done.

Oh my goodness, I would love to! Not possible for now, but sigh…the dreams…

I'd LOVE a vacation to write! No chores or cooking, just me and my WIP! 🙂
  6. I've taken two weekend-long writing retreats. They were nice, but I think I had too high of expectations for what I wanted to accomplish in that time. I would definitely do it again but with an adjustment of my expectations 🙂

Right now a retreat sounds perfect….some place quiet with no deadlines.
