Y is for Yonder

Y is for Yonder!

As we come close to the end of A to Z, I’m wondering what’s off in the distance for all you writers out there. Do you have any plans for what to do next, after you’ve finished working on your current project?

Currently I’m working on an MS that has been the hardest writing I’ve ever done. It took me forever to write it, and now on my first pass through, it’s taking forever all over again. I have never spent this long on something, but I keep pushing through because although it is far from where I want it to be, I know if I can slowly get it to the right place, it could be something awesome.

This will take a while, I know. But after I finish it, or if I desperately need a break from it, I have two other projects I’m pretty excited about. One is complete in that it’s a full, edited story, but I want to add in a bit more and change some of the details. The other is actually the story I began back in November for NaNoWriMo…I don’t like the plot of the current unfinished piece, but I do really like the tone, the setting, and the characters, so I’m currently thinking of another way the plot could go.

So what about you? Any plans for what’s yonder? Or are you sitting solely in the world of today?

I'm right there with you. I've been working on the same project for 3 years, but I'm so close to sending it out for querying that it's kind of a scary thought. I have no idea what my next project will be.

Good luck with your projects, Mere. My Yonder has a few days of sleep and a trip somewhere. Then I'll come back to some stories that are waiting.

Good luck with those final moments/hours/days, etc! It's definitely frightening to be so close to the finish line, but so exciting as well, =)
