    Baby Break!

Hello everyone! So, if you follow my posts you probably already know that I’m having a baby soon, and that the “soon” has been bumped up due to some concerns about the baby’s size. Well, yesterday we found out that “soon” actually means tomorrow! I’m going in to be induced hopefully tomorrow morning, and (again hopefully) I will have a baby by the time Thursday is complete! So, I’m going to be absent from blogging for a bit. I’ll do an update here as soon as I am able, but since I’m a first timer, I have no idea what to expect, so I’m not making any definitive plans! Thanks…

    Celebrate the Small Things

Hosted by Viklit, this is a great weekly chance to talk about the small things worth celebrating in life! My celebrations for this week are:  New blog design! Okay, I have to admit, this was totally by accident. I was playing around with making a background just for practice, when I lost my old background (which I *know* is saved somewhere, but which I cannot seem to find.) So, a new background was necessary. Not sure if I am satisfied with it, but it’s okay for now until I have more time!  It’s Friday! This weekend I’m hoping to get some serious work done in regards to querying a project…

    W is for Writers

We’ve almost hit the end of A-Z, can you believe it? It’s been exhausting but fun blogging every day, and today I’m giving my love to all those writers out there in Bloggerspace! To those writers out there, I have some hopes for you. I hope you are inspired to write something, so you can feel the happiness of those gears clicking into action. I hope you have to struggle to get through a single paragraph of action, so you can know the frustrations of pulling thoughts from your mind. I hope you have a whirlwind storm of easy writing, so you can feel the flutter of words as they…

    H is for Happy

Lame segue, I know. But that’s how it’s going to be! ^_^ Today I am happy, because the lovely and fun Tonja Drecker nominated me for the Sunshine Award! A few questions to answer, so here we go! What inspired you to start blogging? Library school! I took a course called Young Adult Materials, and as part of the course, we had to keep a blog. After the semester was over, I created a new blog, and kept at it. It’s definitely grown since then (I used to post once, maybe twice a month!), but I’ve been consistently here throughout! I love the opportunity to blab and write online, =)…

    I’m Currently…

I got the idea from Bethany Myers, who got it from someone else! Photo From: http://carmen.buzzbuzzhome.com/2010/12/how-to-decorate-your-condo-for-holidays.html Loving: My WIP…I love when writing is this much fun! Reading: Let it Snow: Three Holiday Romances by Maureen Johnson, John Green, and Lauren Myracle. Last year, Christmas went by WAY too fast, so this year I’ve decided to go full out Christmas spirit starting now. So far, it’s working! Reading the Christmasy tales definitely makes you think that outside there are snowflakes and Christmas lights, =3 Watching: Merlin. Why have I never watched this show before? It’s a great lighthearted sort of fantasy, and the relationship between Merlin and Arthur is fantastic, =P…

    Liebster Award!

I was lucky enough to be chosen by the lovely Tamara for the Liebster blog award!  This is an award that can be given only to people with less than 200 followers, so I’m quite excited to be receiving it! So, now I have 11 questions to answer, and then I have to think up 11 of my own, and pass on the award to 11 other bloggers with less than 200 followers! Here I go, =) What is your favorite month of the year? April.  I love all the season changes, but nothing beats the beginning of Spring, when the world is being reborn and everything is getting warm…

GUTGAA Pitch Contest and Reader Appreciation!

I’m very happy to relate that I made it into the GUTGAA Agent Pitch Contest!  Round one (I think) will be posted tomorrow?  So I’m excited to see what other queries are grouped with me.  Did everyone else make it in?  It’s so exciting, but nerve-racking at the same time, eh? In other news, I was nominated for a Reader Appreciation award.  Whoo!  I was happily surprised to see myself nominated for this award…it’s so great to get to meet people through forums, blogs, and contests, and it’s neat to get to share the love and good tidings with everyone else through things like this!  So now, it’s my turn…

    Updates

It’s been busy around here.  I am entering into my final week of work (yikes!) before I am finished my contract, and am thus unemployed =(  I have some prospects, so it is not dreadfully dire, but it has been fairly stressful, and I’ve been picking up extra shifts to bump up that final pay!  And thus, I’ve had less time to get my brain working on other stuff, such as writing blog posts (boo).  I am hoping to pick it up again, soon.  And after this next week, I’ll have a least a little time off, so I will definitely focus on the blog then! In other news, I’ve…

Gearing Up to Get an Agent

Thanks to the lovely Lisa, I recently discovered GUTGAA, the Gearing Up to Get an Agent Blogfest, hosted by Deana Barnhart! I have never done one of these blogfests before, but I have signed-up for this one, and I am kind of excited. I am working to polish my new query (based on revisions), and this will be a good motivator to get it perfected! I am really looking forward to meeting some new writers through this event, and you’ll likely see one or two blog posts related to the event on here, too! GUTGAA begins next Friday, August 31st, with the Meet and Greet! If you are a writer…

    Blogging, and A New Project

As previously mentioned, I recently took over the teen blog for my library system.  I love it, but I’ve noticed that I am always thinking about what my next blog post will be.  I want variety, and I want quality posts, but I also want to make sure my posts are going to appeal to the teen readers.  Plus, I want them to reflect what’s going on in the library.  I post once a week, and I always plan out my post before I actually post it.  It’s a pretty organized system, and I think it’s working pretty well! Now, look at my personal blog.  I’ve kept this blog up…
