Mere is available for school/library visits, author presentations, book club visits, and workshops.
Visits and Presentations
Visits and author presentations typically range from 30-60 minutes. Topics can include:
- Book-specific presentations focusing on the inspiration and/or writing process – these presentations include a short reading from the text, plus a question and answer period
- The writing/publication process, including Mere’s personal stories of how writing as a teen shaped her future writing career
- Theme or genre-specific presentations (e.g. writing Contemporary fiction, plotting a Mystery, Getting into a character’s mind)
- Book club discussion – Sharing thoughts and talking about themes in a chosen work
Workshops
Workshops typically range from 1-3 hours in length, depending on topic and audience. Workshops include both interactive activities and individual writing time. Workshops are geared toward ages 12 and up. Topics can include:
- Write What You Know Nothing About: Using Research to Learn More About the World Around You (2-3 hours)
- Crafting a Character: Methods for Character Creation (1 hour)
- Living in Your Own Universe: Creating a World for Your Story (1-3 hours)
