Took a quick trip to PEI this week with my family, and of course had to visit Green Gables while we were there 👒- it’s been a long time since my last visit, and there’s a lot more to the site now with the lovely new welcome centre. A definite highlight of our little trip, complete with a walk through the Haunted Woods 👻.

My latest Shakespeare, and another play I knew not

My latest Shakespeare, and another play I knew nothing about going into it. And, well…WOW. What a ride!!
.
I read half the play with a shocked expression on my face (+ a big smile, haha), and then immediately watched the 2014 Globe production. It’s shocking, brutal, ridiculous, and full of such sharp turns from comedy to violence and back again…I totally understand why this isn’t a lot of people’s kinds of Shakespeare, especially as it lacks the complexity and deeper meaning of some of his other plays. But I LOVED this from beginning to end - totally my kind of weird - unnerving, entertaining, and marvellous!
