I finished The Mercies over the weekend. I loved the first half of this novel, when we were right there with the women as they learned how to reshape their lives after the storm - I do wish the second half hadn’t been so removed from the actual witch trials, but the writing was still fantastic throughout! This was my second read that focused on the Vardø trials, and both books so far have been very different (but very enjoyable!)

Okay, so I had a lot of fun reading Troilus and Cressida, probably the most fun I’ve had *reading* Shakespeare instead of viewing it. This definitely isn’t one his most popular plays, but I’ve got a soft spot for the Ancient Greek stories! I wanted to see a production of the play, so I got myself a copy of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s adaptation from a few years ago - I’m really looking forward to watching this 🎭

When you live in a small town, sometimes, going to nearest place with fancy doughnuts and a bigger book store is a real treat 🍩 📚. I’ve been listening to a lot of vampire stories lately (which is weird, as I’m not actually a big vampire fan!), so I figured it was time for a werewolf tale instead!
